  • The acquisition of The Future Forward was a strategic decision by Multiplica, as part of its geographic expansion plan.
  • A perfect fit.
  • By purchasing a New York-based operation; Multiplica not only acquires a set of ongoing projects and a portfolio of clients, it also gains local recognition, image and expertise.

Barcelona, November 2022.- Multiplica, the digital consultancy focused on relevant digital experience design; announced the acquisition of The Future Forward agency. Through this transaction, Multiplica aims to consolidate its presence in the North American market and accelerate its global expansion process.

Emerging in Spain more than two decades ago, Multiplica has built a strong presence in other Spanish-speaking markets, from Chile to Mexico, covering Peru, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador. After years of expansion in Latin America, it has consolidated its team as well as a significant customer portfolio in the United States, including MSC Cruises, Chubb, Subway, and Tigo, among others.

This acquisition reflects an outstanding year for Multiplica, reporting a growth of 60% over the previous year. Pursuing further expansion in the U.S. market, it was strategic for Multiplica to acquire an agency that would allow it to enter the New York market, and thus gain access to a new universe of clients.

In this regard, David Boronat, founder and president of Multiplica, assured: “The Future Forward is the perfect partner we were looking for, as it allows us to advance geographically, while consolidating our expertise in design and branding”.

Matías Garrido, CEO of Multiplica, indicated: The United States is emerging as a very important market for us, in which we will be able to leverage our expertise, talent and synergies, implementing local and Latin American solutions, and accompanying clients in creating their own capabilities”.

Multiplica and The Future Forward: the future of brands is digital

The Future Forward has over ten years of experience offering Digital Marketing, Digital Innovation and Brand Communication services for internationally renowned companies including: Google, Nike, PepsiCo, Puma, Quiksilver and YouTube, amongst others.

The agency is not only dedicated to building relevant brands, but also to helping them achieve greater influence over their audiences and customers, as well as stand out from competitors. These objectives are achieved through a thorough understanding of market dynamics and its latest technological trends.

For Nick Hoag, US Head of Growth, “The Future Forward’s branding and design approach will bring a new angle to Multiplica’s offerings, allowing us to interact with clients through their brands. This includes the development of a comprehensive brand strategy, brand name and brand identity design along with all other brand touch points going forward. Combined with Multiplica’s extensive capabilities, we can be a true end-to-end partner for North American companies.”

Jonathan Sandridge, Partner & Creative Director, indicated: “knowing that Multiplica had come a long way, expanding to regions all over the world increased our confidence that this relationship will be a long-term one”.

Expansion, growth and plans for 2023

Moving forward, Luciano Lopatin, Multiplica’s US Country Manager, indicated that the main objective for the coming year will be to consolidate “rapid and exponential growth”. In this sense, he indicated that they are looking to accelerate commercial activities and open conversations with relevant companies associated with the core business of The Future Forward and Multiplica.

The core of the 2023 United States expansion strategy will be based on Multiplica’s four business pillars: web design, CRO, engineering and talent.

Boronat also indicated that, after two years of expanding process automation, loyalty and digital marketing capabilities, by 2023 they expect to “accelerate the incorporation of new companies that will allow us to expand geographically while consolidating our value proposition in performance marketing, data analytics, segmentation strategy, CRM and the design and creation of more omnichannel and immersive experiences”.

“The Future Forward is the think tank Multiplica needs to get ahead of the future and gather the best practices and future trends at a brand level in the digital space,” concluded Boronat
